What "copy Omega master" means
The phrase is trade shorthand, not a model name. It covers replica versions of the two Omega lines with "master" in the name: Seamaster and Speedmaster. Sellers list them as "copy Omega Seamaster" or "copy Omega Speedmaster". A listing that says "master" alone is ambiguous. Ask for the reference number before you pay.
Models behind the term
- Seamaster Diver 300M. 42mm case, ceramic bezel, helium escape valve at 10 o'clock, Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8800, 300m rating.
- Seamaster Aqua Terra. 38mm and 41mm cases, 150m rating, calibre 8900 or 8800.
- Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional. 42mm case, manual calibre 3861, hesalite or sapphire crystal, 50m rating.
- Speedmaster Racing and Date. 40mm case, automatic calibre 9900 or 3330.
Movements found in replicas
Three movement families cover most of the market.
- Seamaster: Asian clone of ETA 2824 with a decorative rotor and bridge, sold as "A8800". Timekeeping comes from the 2824 base. The Co-Axial escapement is absent.
- Speedmaster Moonwatch: Seagull ST19 manual chronograph, 21,600 vph. Some batches use a Lemania 1861 pattern movement. Both run at a beat rate below the Omega 3861.
- Speedmaster Racing and Date: Valjoux 7750 clone, automatic, 28,800 vph. Case thickness runs above the genuine 40mm model.
Genuine calibre 8800 carries METAS Master Chronometer certification and 55 hours of power reserve. Calibre 3861 carries the same certification and 50 hours. A replica marked "Master Chronometer" has no METAS test record. The text on the caseback is engraving, not certification.
Case, crystal and dial checks
- Case steel. Genuine Seamaster 300M uses 316L. Replica lugs often show a softer polish line at the bevel.
- Crystal. Domed sapphire with inner anti-reflective coating on the genuine watch. Many replicas coat the outer face.
- Bezel insert. Ceramic with enamel filled dive scale on the genuine Diver 300M. Replica enamel paint fades, and laser etched scales sit above the surface.
- Date position. Seamaster 300M places the date at 6 o'clock. Early replica batches place it at 3.
- Helium escape valve. Functional on the genuine watch. Decorative on many replicas.
- Moonwatch dial. Calibre 3861 uses a stepped dial and the applied dot over 90. ST19 replicas show subdial spacing that does not match.
Water resistance
The Seamaster Diver 300M carries a 300m rating and ISO 6425 certification on the genuine watch. Replica cases ship with no pressure test data. Gaskets on replica cases are unverified. Treat water resistance as unknown. Do not swim with the watch.

Seamaster replicas list at about $150 to $250 for entry builds, $300 to $450 for mid builds, and $500 to $800 for builds with a clone movement and ceramic bezel. Speedmaster manual chronograph replicas list at about $250 to $600. Prices move with factory and batch. There is no public price index.
QC checklist before you accept a watch
- Rehaut engraving. Letters should align with the minute markers.
- Date window. Seamaster 300M sits at 6 o'clock. Rejects sit at 3.
- Subdial spacing on the Moonwatch. Genuine 3861 places subdials at 3, 6 and 9 with a step in the dial.
- Bezel action. Count the clicks. The genuine Seamaster bezel is unidirectional with 120 clicks.
- Lume. Charge the dial for 30 seconds and compare brightness across the markers.
- Caseback engraving depth, and the seahorse medallion on the Seamaster.
- Timegrapher reading. Rate within plus or minus 10 seconds per day, amplitude above 250 degrees.

Omega is a Swatch Group brand. Counterfeit watches are illegal to sell in the US and the EU. U.S. Customs and Border Protection seizes and destroys shipments.
