Answer first

IW328021 is an IWC reference in the Pilot's Watch Automatic 41 family. A replica of it is a 41 mm steel three-hand watch with a black dial, a date window at 3, and a 120-hour automatic movement. Copies exist at three price tiers, and the tier shows in the dial printing, the case finishing, and the movement. Buy the tier that matches how you will wear the watch, then check the copy against the numbers below before you pay.

One limit: I could not confirm the exact dial color and strap code for IW328021 itself. IWC publishes that per reference. Compare the seller's photos to the official listing for the reference before you order.

The specs a copy should match

  • Case diameter: 41 mm
  • Case thickness: about 11.4 mm
  • Case material: stainless steel, brushed sides, polished bezel
  • Movement: IWC calibre 32111, automatic, 120-hour power reserve
  • Crystal: sapphire, anti-reflective coating
  • Water resistance: 100 m
  • Dial: matte black, white printed numerals, applied indices
  • Date: aperture at 3

Any listing that quotes 40 mm or a 42-hour reserve is selling a different watch, or is guessing.

Price tiers

  • Entry, under $150. Correct case size, printed dial. Movement is a low-grade clone. Crown threads feel rough.
  • Mid, $200 to $350. Better dial print, sharper index edges, reliable automatic. Normal pick for daily wear.
  • Top, $400 and up. Closest case profile, cloned movement with a long reserve, clean engraving on the caseback.

Prices move with factory batches. Treat these as bands, not fixed prices.

QC checklist

  1. Measure the case with calipers. Diameter and thickness should land within 0.3 mm of spec.
  2. Look at the dial print at 3x zoom. Font weight should be even, indices aligned to the minute track.
  3. Check the date window. The cut should be square, the disc centered, the font correct.
  4. Wind the crown 30 turns. It should feel smooth with no grit.
  5. Set the watch down for 3 days. A 120-hour movement should still run on day 3.
  6. Ask for lume shots in a dark room. Brightness should be even across all markers.
  7. Ask for a water resistance test if you plan to swim.

Red flags

  • Studio photos only, no macro shot of the dial or caseback.
  • The same image on five other listings.
  • No timestamp photo with the watch.
  • A price far under the tier for the specs claimed.
