Short answer

IW93835 is a strap reference. It sits in the block of five-digit numbers IWC uses for straps, buckles and bracelet parts. It is not a watch model. So a replica iw93835 is a copy of a strap, not of a cased watch. Ask any seller to confirm this before you pay. If the photo shows a watch head, request the case reference as well. IWC case numbers use other blocks, such as IW3777, IW5007 and IW3716.

Measurements to confirm

Fit depends on four numbers. Get each one in writing.

  • Lug width: 20 mm, 21 mm and 22 mm cover most IWC models. A 0.5 mm gap shows at the lugs.
  • Buckle width: most IWC tang and deployant buckles take 18 mm.
  • Length: two-piece straps run about 105/70 mm or 110/75 mm.
  • Thickness: 3 mm to 4 mm at the lug end. Thicker leather rubs the case.

Leather, lining and stitch

IWC fits alligator and calf to most models. Copy straps use embossed cowhide, split leather or polyurethane. Check three points: the grain should vary across the panel, the lining should be a separate piece and not painted, and the stitch should sit even at the edges. Machine stitching runs 5 to 7 stitches per cm. Loose thread ends and glue squeeze at the edge are the common fail points. Ask for a close photo of the buckle end, where the leather is folded and bonded.

Price bands

Replica straps land between $25 and $90. Buckles add $10 to $30. Genuine IWC straps sell for several hundred dollars. A price under $20 points to split leather. A price near $150 for a part sold as a replica is mislabelled.

Seller checks

  1. Ask for a photo of the strap back with the reference stamp.
  2. Ask for the lug width in millimetres, not “fits most”.
  3. Confirm the return window in days.
  4. Pay by card or an escrow service. Skip wire transfer.

What is unknown

IWC does not publish IW93835 on every regional page of its site. Confirm the number with the seller or an authorised dealer before you treat it as exact. Two sellers can use the same number for straps that differ in colour, lining and buckle finish. Treat the reference as a starting point, not a guarantee.
