The case is grade 5 titanium, roughly 47 mm across, with a black ceramic bezel, a rubber strap on a titanium folding clasp, and a busy dial carrying a chronograph, a second time zone, and running seconds.
The interesting work sits under the dial. The escapement runs dry. Silicon components and a titanium balance replace the oil that normally keeps a Swiss lever escapement alive, and the movement shrugs off magnetic fields that would wreck an ordinary chronograph. The crown is not an ordinary crown either. It sits inside a rotating selector collar that switches between winding, date, and time setting, and the chronograph pushers use a rocker arrangement near 2 and 4 o'clock.
Why this model is hard to copy
Most replica factories chase volume, and this reference has almost none. The Extreme Lab 2 was a low-production, high-complication piece, so there is no cheap donor movement that lines up with the real dial layout. A factory that wants to fake it has to invent a gear train or accept a mismatch.
