Short answer
Cartier makes a watch called Pasha de Cartier. There is no factory model named Pasha 2021. That label comes from sellers of copies. Cartier relaunched the Pasha line in 2020 and added chronograph, 30 mm, and skeleton Pasha models in 2021. A copy of a Pasha is a counterfeit. Buying one in the US and importing one into the US both violate federal trademark law.
The real Pasha line
The first Pasha de Cartier went on sale in 1985. Gerald Genta designed it. The case is round. A screw-down cap covers the crown. The cap holds a blue stone cabochon. The strap attaches to a bar held by screws, not a standard spring bar.
Cartier relaunched the line in 2020 in 41 mm and 35 mm sizes, in steel, yellow gold, and rose gold. Two systems arrived with the relaunch. QuickSwitch releases the strap without a tool. SmartLink removes bracelet links without a tool.
The 41 mm time-and-date model runs the 1847 MC automatic movement. Water resistance is 100 m. Cartier fit a sapphire caseback to the 41 mm, so the rotor and bridges are visible. Cartier added a 41 mm chronograph and a 30 mm case in 2021. Reference numbers differ by case size, metal, and dial. Cartier lists each one per variant. I have not confirmed every 2021 reference number.
What sellers of copies advertise
Listings for replica Pasha 2021 use terms such as 1:1, AAA, and clone movement. The watches come from factories that hold no Cartier license. Most use a generic automatic movement from a third-party plant. Sellers describe movements as Swiss. Swiss labeling rules set conditions on that word, and movements in low-priced copies do not meet them.
A copy carries no Cartier warranty. Cartier service centers do not repair counterfeits and do not supply parts for them. Resale value is close to zero.
US legal status
18 U.S.C. Section 2320 makes trafficking in counterfeit goods a federal crime. The Trademark Act allows statutory damages without proof of lost sales. US Customs and Border Protection can seize counterfeit watches at the border and destroy them. The importer of record is the person who placed the order, not the shipping company.
How a genuine Pasha is marked
- Caseback: Cartier engraves the reference number, the serial number, and the country of origin. Copies often use the wrong font or repeat one serial number across many units.
- Crown cap: the screw threads are fine and the cap sits flush with the case. Copies often leave a gap.
- Movement: on the 41 mm, the movement is visible through the caseback. Copies hide generic movements or print decoration on the rotor.
- Papers: Cartier supplies a warranty card with the reference and serial number that match the case. Copies ship cards that do not match.
- Price: authorized dealers do not sell below list. Prices far under list point to a copy.
Bottom line
The 2021 Pasha models are real Cartier products with published specifications. Watches sold as replica Pasha 2021 are not. They carry no warranty, no service support, and no legal right of import or resale in the US.
